So last weekend
As planned we wore our new cosplays on saturday and sunday and I will upload some pictures later this week.
On saturday I wore Metis from Persona 3, FES and it was awesome! And that even though my costume fell apart even before I entered the convention area but I was able to repair it at least a little so it was wearable again. I was not able to move a great amount in it though. But here in Germany we have a saying: "Wer schön sein will, muss leiden" which roughly translates to "If you want to be pretty, you have to suffer" and I can say when it comes to cosplay, this is unfortunatly very true.
On sunday we wore our cosplays from the game "Deus Ex: Human Revolution", one of my favourite games of 2011. While Videros was Adam Jensen, I was the news anchor/ AI Eliza Cassan.
This cosplay surely was a challenge for me since I never made something so challenging and I mostly do not use any patterns for making my cosplays at all. But it turned out really nice and I sincerely started crying a bit when I saw the first pictures of me in this cosplay.
Seeing my affords come to life made me so happy I cried, pretty embarrassing, right?
I guess I got so invested in all this because I really wanted to do the character and the game justice. Though the cosplay is in no way perfect, I was so glad everyone gave me positive feedback at the convention. And it is the very first cosplay that fits me right and does not need any safety pins to look good.
Oh, and I am really happy that Videros` cosplay got so much attention already, even in the "mainstream media" like kotaku.com, since he really deserves it in my opinion! He really put his all in the making of it and I will be glad to help him working over the little flaws in this cosplay until the gamescom in Cologne this summer, where we plan to wear these cosplays again.
Long story short: The german convention season started. ME GUSTA!
